Consultation of Parliamentarians for Equity and Girls' Education

Abstract

This report outlines key outcomes and results from a high-level regional consultation to ensure that all children of South Asia are able to realise their right to complete a full cycle of quality basic schooling, using partnerships as a strategy for equity and girls’ education. Seven countries were represented at the Consultation that was organised under UNGEI and hosted by the Government of Nepal in collaboration with members of the Constituent Assembly of Nepal. This Consultation built on earlier meetings on this topic, held in Nepal and Bangladesh, as part of UNGEI activities to enhance cross-country dialogue, learning and South-south cooperation.
