Success on the Ground reducing child Marriage


  
Abstract

  Although the practice of child marriage is deeply rooted in traditions and cultural beliefs, it is possible to change the practice within a community over the course of a few years. This article focuses on the two interventions that have worked to delay the age of marriage, one being the, the Life Skills Education Program run by ICRW’s research partner, the Institute for Health Management, Pachod (IHMP) and second being the formation of early marriage cancellation committees by Pathfinder International/Ethiopia in collaboration with local partners to form.
